I have been working on a Blog for a little while now... I believe I started it last year. I am sad to say I have written in it 6 times. My problem that I am having is... how do you blog and not sound like a neanderthal? I love to talk, but when I read some of the many blogs around, and they sound so wonderful, I get nervous about how I sound. Anyone else have that problem? Anyone have any ideas?

Be yourself. I know it sounds so very cliche but it is true. Readers can tell when you are "trying." They are not dumb.
It takes time to find your "blogger voice" You just have to write, write, write and then write some more. Just like my parents told me about playing the trumpet, "Practice, practice, practice!" I never did get the hang of the trumpet though, so maybe that isn't the best advice ;)
One thing that you are already doing that is a great starting point is reading. Read other blogs and read a lot of them. That will help you narrow down not only what you want to talk about but what style you do it in.
I am always using ( )'s, -'s, ....'s and etc...'s in my blog posts. But oh well, that's my natural writing. When I am writing for pay, I can't do that.
My blog is about work at home ( supposedly) Oops- there go the parenthesis and dash again!
But, I often write about the kids, grandkid, our animals, etc...because it is all inter-related. It is the reality of working at home - you get interrupted by kids, friends, family. It's not always easy.
But also people can see I do have a life. When my grandson comes over I can take 1/2 hour and hug him and such. I can take my mom to the doctors. I can be a Girl Scout leader.
That's what I hope to convey in my messages. But I do talk home biz stuff now & then.
Also, don't forget about things (meme's?) like Wordless Wednesday (you only post pics), Thankful Thursday, and others.
Don't worry so much about it! I know, there are some incredibly gifted writers out there who just blow me away, and at first I found that so intimidating. But they are who they are, and you are who you are. Once you get going you'll find your own voice.
I write like I talk, most of the time. So I've broken so many "writing" rules it's not funny! Every so often, though, I'll take a bit more time for a post with a more serious tone, and craft it, just to further tweak my writing skills.
Just do whatever feels right for you, and don't let the nerves get the better of you!
