My 12-year-old daughter wanted to see The House Bunny. Let me back up a bit... I didn't know she wanted to see it until she told me a group of friends saw the movie over the weekend. I immediately went in to "why was my child excluded mode?" I know, I know not my finest hour, but I do get miffed when I find my kids were excluded. Today I volunteered in my son's kindergarten art class. Currently I am in his class twice a week. It really is too much, but I cannot help myself as this is the first year I have been able to volunteer consistently. So, I am going for it. I believe I will be done by January.

Should a child stop trick-or-treating at 12, 13, 14?? I have definitely heard the deep voice of a teenage boy behind a fright mask. Or the high-pitched voices of a group of girl friends out trick-or-treating. I have wondered why these kids are still out on what is very much a night for preschool and elementary school children.

When should a child stop? Should the child make his or her own choice or should a parent step in to let the child know that it is time to hang up the pillowcase?
